TJ Class of '68     UPDATE                                                       10/29/06

Welcome autumn to everyone,
This is the first day of the new TIME and I am already sleepy and it is only 5:15pm.  Yikes!  I thought I would write a little to you even though I have not received the NORMAL amount of mail for an UPDATE.  Mike is really working non-stop on trying to convert our website into "front-page" so that we can get it onto a paid website.  I will be setting up an account for the website and will tell you all the details later so that you can send in the contributions that you have generously offered.  Tommy Thompson is our newest  future"contributor".
THANKS again!!

MAIL CALL:

from Christine Crochet Wramp:
If you know of any of our classmates that are going to be in town for Thanksgiving and would be interested in meeting up, I am going to be in Port Arthur from the 22nd until the 27 and would like to set up a lunch date or supper date with anyone from our class. My life is rather boring, but I would love to get with anyone else that would be interested.
(You can contact Christine via e-mail at her address in the CLASSMATE LISTING on the website or contact me with any messages for her).

from Tommy Thompson:
Does anyone know how to locate Jimmy Bean?

from Gary Hammond:
Does anyone know how to locate James Hubert?
(Maybe someone might know a middle name for those two guys to help us with our search on the internet.)

from Mike Soileau:
http://home.tiscali.nl/annejan/swf/timeline.swf  It's in 24 Hour time that someone really put some thought into.

from Norma Guidry
Do you know how I can find  some yearbooks to buy, a site I can go to or whatever? I would like some, & my older brother also.

from Fred Schneider (class of 66 and the late Randy Schneider's brother): "
Dear Jackets of 1966

A couple of weeks (Oct. 7, 2006) have passed and I have regained full strength, at least enough to say that our 40th was just marvelous. We spent the entire evening chatting and mingling and visiting. We had a short program that made all the usual announcements, and we had a very nice memorial service for our departed classmates. Then, we just went for it. And we had enough hugging even for me,(well, almost).

Photos of the party will be posted by the hundreds on your Route'66. You will have the chance to purchase a disk of the reunion party in the near future, for $12.00 - $15.00. We will advise on that when available. You can have a permanent record as a keepsake.

We were all very special that weekend. The Reunion Hall welcomed us for a couple of (warm) hours to view all our trophies and memories. The reunion party was very rewarding. The breakfast on Sunday morning was delicious, and a welcomed continuation of the night before. So, if you are wondering how I feel about it, there's only one thing to say!

ONLY 5 MORE YEARS TILL THE REUNION !

Thanks everybody and God bless.

Fred

from Patty Self Kimbrell:
I just found this website this week.  I read all the updates, you are really doing a fine job keeping the class informed. I attended the class of 66 reunion Oct. 7th week-end with my sister and ran into Jane Lippincott, Joy Jefferson and Barbara King.  It was really great seeing them.
(We don't have Joy Jefferson's e-mail address.  Anyone know it?)
My husband and I live on Lake Livingston and have a business in Houston.  I spend about half of my time relaxing at the lake and the other half in the big city, so I have the best of both worlds.  I never had any children but my husband has twin sons and we have three grandkids.
(Patty is new to our mailing so check out her e-mail address in the CLASSMATE LISTING on the website.)

from David Weldon:
I'm really enjoying the updates.  Talked with Dwight Larson.  He's the Postmaster in Caldwell, Texas.  Never married.  Raising cows.  Says life is good.
(Dwight doesn't have a computer at home so he doesn't get the UPDATES or have access to the website.)

from Dennis O'Quinn:
Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know that the web site is a great success.  I know people like you, Mike Lawson and others have
spent a lot of time putting this together, which is no easy task.  Thanks again.
(Thanks Dennis for sending in a new home address to keep you from becoming "MISSING!)

from Janice Hebert Boudreaux: Just had it confirmed that Brandi, our middle daughter, and her husband are expecting their first child May 10, 2007.  We are just so excited to be having another grandbaby.  Our oldest daughter and son-in-law are expecting their second baby (a boy) Jan. 16, 2007.  We are going to need a bigger car to fit all the carseats.

The new website is fantastic!  I love looking at all the old pictures and other things you guys have included on it.

from Allen Baldridge:
We moved back to Texas from Virginia at the end of June.  We have been traveling around the country with our ballooning friends.  During this period we also spent a great deal of time searching for the perfect house and found it in Hideaway, TX.  It is a little over an hour east of Dallas.  Come and visit us.

from Patricia Patrick Cunningham

That is about it for now.  Pleeeease contact Mike or I if you have a problem with reading any of our pages on the website.  It is the ONLY way for us to find out and try to correct it.  Some of you had trouble opening a few photos and the military page when it was first "published".  We don't know of problems from our view on YOUR end.  Thanks for sharing your photos and stories.  As always.....
