My
fall semester of teaching at SFA is just ending so I am getting ready for
Christmas. I am glad to be on
break. Our next semester starts
January 12th. Philip and I will be in Port Neches for our family
celebration next Saturday.
Some
friends and I vistied Jefferson, Tx to take the candlelight tour of historic
homes. The small town is worth a
visit. There is a great general
store and lots of gift shops.

NEWS
FROM THE HOMEFRONT
Not
too much from the “beer lease”.
Murphy has been getting wild pigs and cutting them into roast.
My recipe from the internet called “Mississippi Roast” made in the crock
pot is so simple and the roast has no GAMEY taste!
Christmas was different this year not having dad.
It has been over 3 months since he has left this earth.
I know my mom hadprobably been impatient while waiting for him to join
her. She passed away in May, 2010.
My
evacuee daughter, two teen granddaughters and the golden retriver granddog moved
out a month ago. It sure is a lot
less hectic but also too quiet.
Empty nest again. They are trying
to get back to a new normal in their remodeled home.
Their flooring isn't quite finished and they still need to buy some more
furniture and rugs. They will get
there. They are a lot further along
than many of our friends that are still waiting on financial assistance from
their insurance companies. Sad!
My
sister developed a UTI and sepsis and had to be hospitalized for a few days in
Kingwood. She is back at her
assisted living in Atascocita but has another UTI.
Please keep her in your prayers.

Just
got to sit up after having a heart procedure. My doctor said everything could
not have gone any better . He put a stent in.
He also said it was blocked 90%. Thanks for the prayers.

Benedetto Martin's
daughter, Brandi, had a hematopoietic stem cell transplant. They are hoping that
it helps her MS and rheumatoid arthritis.

I
just turned on my IPad for the first time and I just sat here and cried with
everyone's outpouring of prayers, love & support during my surgery!! I cannot
ever thank my family and friends enough - YOU GUYS GOT ME THROUGH THIS!! If I
could, I would hug each one of you right now.
Charlie and I feel so blessed to have you in our lives!! Love and hugs
right back to you!

I
don't think I have had such a short NEWSLETTER in many years.
I haven't been checking on FB for news as much as usual since the storm.
Also, I don't hear from my sweet classmates anymore.
That means Mike and I will have less and
less website updates. Another class
has had to disband their website for the same reason.
Oh, how heartbreaking after working so hard to get it going.
I
hope you all have the happiest and healthiest of NEW YEARS!
Stay in touch and contact a classmate,
