TJ Class of '68     NEWSLETTER                                                           07/30/11

It has been a month since my last NEWSLETTER.  I didn't have any mail for the last scheduled one two weeks ago.  I have a little this time to publish.  Here goes:
MAIL CALL
from Billy Jordan in Decatur, AL
(taken off of Face Book)
July 22-We are headed to Destin, FL in the morning for a week of beach, sun and fun.  We are taking the 5 year old grandson with us.  This will be about the 10th or 11th year we have been going to Destin.  I heard the seaweed is bad right now but hopefully it will not be like that all week.
July 29-Last day at Deston before heading home tomorrow.  Not a real good week.  Lots of rain the last few days.  Now the surf is really up and the red flags are out.  My 5 year old grandson is bummed.  The first few days the surf was perfect and we did a lot of boogie boarding.  Yesterday was too rough for that.  At least the sun is out this morning.

from Christy Dodge Young in Destin, FL
(taken off of Face Book)
Just had the best visit with classmate Billy Jordan and his wife Denise.  I haven't seen them in ages.  Great to reconnect!

from Billy Jordan (again in response to Christy's post above)
It was great reconnecting with Christy after all these years.  There were only 5 people at my wedding and Christy was one of them.  We are looking forward to coming back to Destin to visit with them again.

from Loretta LaLonde Myers in League City, TX
Glynn and I took our two daughters, sons-in-law and the four grandchildren on a seven night cruise out of Galveston on July 3rd.  We all had a great time.  Our kids surprised us with reservations at the steak house onboard one evening for our 42nd anniversary.  I hope all of the '68 classmates are enjoying the summer!  Thank you and Mike for keeping all of us connected.

from Fred McCarty in Kingwood, TX
I enjoyed reading the NEWSLETTER and website update published on July 1st.  I was pleased to note the new addition of a SEARCH BOX, and I tried it to see how it works.  I think that it is a great additional sevice, in that you can quickly find references to various specific classmates.  I hope that you will publish a short blurb in the next update to bring this new feature to everyone's attention.  In my view, Mike, you have just made our excellent website even better and easier to use.

from David Lapham in Sunset Valley, TX (near Austin)
Many thanks to you and Mike for the NEWSLETTERS and web site.  It's nice to hear what folks are up to these days.

LIST OF INVALID E-MAIL ADDRESSES
Mike and I receive many of our messages about the website updates back because of INVALID e-mail addresses!  That means they aren't receiving IMPORTANT news and updates "-)   Please look over this partial list and send me any known GOOD e-mail addresses for these classmates.
I appreciate your time in this matter.  There were other names that I have not listed.  I'll update after hopefully receiving your help. Mike receives some back that I don't and vice versa!  Strange.  Maybe some e-mail addresses don't like mass mailings. (I am aware that some of these classmates no longer work at the business address they might have previously given us.)
