It is here!  A new decade.  They sure come faster now that we are getting along in the years.  Some of our classmates
have turned 60 already and many of us are knocking on the door.  I can remember when my parents were ANCIENT when they were 60!

I had the best Christmas that I have had in years!!! My children, their spouses, (I call them my kids, too), and all 6 of my
grandchildren were with me! What a joyful time!! This was the first Christmas celebration we had with Sarah in 16 years.
am thankful for God's blessings this Christmas season.

My friend, Rebecca Stark Nugent, is a direct descendent of the famous Orange, TX Stark family.  She has written a fictional book based on FACT using the pen name Frank Mills.  I have heard so much about the book as she was writing it and know that it will be a thriller to read.  I thought I would pass this on to all of you in case you might be interested in the book.  The link to the web site is www.ifthedevilhadawife.com  Also, if you are on Facebook, she has a page and you
can become a fan.  Type in the SEARCH box the following:  If The Devil Had A Wife.  It should bring you to the Facebook page.

Happy New Year!!! It has been a wonderful New Year's Day. Our son, Michael, grilled for us. We got to spend the evening
with Jennifer, Stephanie, Paul, Michael, Jackie, Michael's precious fiance, and some of their friends. No New Year's Day
is complete without all of the football games. Laura joined us for supper tonight and we all enjoyed catching up. God
has truly blessed us with wonderful family, friends, and church.

Looking forward to the new year of 2010. This new year brings to mind my father who was 40 years old when I was
born and passed away over thirty years ago. He was born in 1910, 100 years ago as of the new year. Time does fly by,
so enjoy each year in every stage of your life and the lives of your children. Have a safe and happy new year!

from David Williams in Wimberly
I was reading the website tonight and noticed the “I remember when” site.  I am going to think and write a couple of
things I remember and send them in.  Thanks so much for all that you and Mike do to keep our class together.

from Linda Blakeley Rindlishbacher in Oroville, CA
Wow!   I love the new web site look.  GREAT JOB.  The lay out is so very easy to use and the background colors, as
well as the music, make it a real pleasure to read.  I know the web updates are very time consuming.  I hope
everyone else appreciates it as much as I do.  Thank you for the time and dedication for a job well done.

from Shari Louvier Parker in Malta, TX
Since I have moved to my farm in Malta, things have certainly been exciting.  I love the country, the quite, and the
20 acres to roam and watch my 3 Labradors run and play.  I have been actively running my "u pick" berry farm
with blackberries and blueberries for 5 years and as of 2010, I am shutting that part down.  We had a tremendously
wet year and I had to cut something.

Just so you don't think I am doing nothing, I have Shari Parker Publishing and Printing.  I have been publishing
cookbooks for organizations and churches here for 2 years and now have expanded the business to printing.  I have
always done all my own marketing, sales and dresses.  I will still have the Harvest Festival in October and November
for the school children.  We grow pumpkins and have the schools and public come out to play in the maize, hayride
and have ice cream.  I substitute when I can in elementary for the Texarkana school district.

My son, Clint, is doing well and happy in Houma, LA.  He and his fiancee, Jennifer, will be getting an education degree.
Clint is a Foreman for Marine Electricians.  I visited in September and am going back in January.  Love the visits.  Jennifer
is a wonderful, fun and beautiful young lady and I can't wait for grandchildren.  I feel truly blessed to be in the country.
I love my church and friends and they are all so supportive  I really have a great life.  Drop me a line by e-mail,
sharipar@yahoo.com or go to the webpage to see the latest events here, www.gardenofedenfarm.com   I pray that all
of you are well and happy and that the coming year will be profitable, safe, and fulfilling.

from Allen Baldridge in Hideaway, TX
It's been a pretty good year for us.  We're still enjoying Hideaway playing golf, line dancing and watching FOX news
while Wanda plays tennis, goes to exercise class, plays Mahjhongg, and is involved with two Reading Groups.  Our son
resides in Sugar Land working as Orchestra Director in the Fort Bend ISD.  He and his band director girlfriend visit us when time permits and we enjoy taking the boat out on our little Hideaway lake.

We managed to travel a bit in 2009.  We took the AmTrak from Mineola to Tucson.  Wanda went to London with
a friend.  We went to Augusta for The Masters in April.  We made Charleston a side trip. Ballooning was once
again part of our summer and fall travel.  We went to Reno and Albuquerque for that event.

But, alas....life happens.  Yes, the quote is...life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.
And so it is with us as well.  Wanda's mother passed away in September.  It has been a bittersweet holiday season
without her but the memories have sustained us.  As we begin this new year, we are reminded of how blessed we are
living here in Hideaway.  We are grateful for our health, our family, and our friend.  Here's wishing you happiness,
prosperity and good times to last all year.  Make every day count.

from Henry Stark (Lutcher Stark HS '68)
Great Website!  We're getting to the age where the good 'ole days are behind us, but the memories are great.  Funny
how it seems like only yesterday.  Love the music, nothing like a big band!  However, The Spirit of Aggieland would
sound much better than the Eyes of Texas.  Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and wishing you a Happy New Year.

Sincerely,
Lutcher Stark

DVD From the 25th REUNION

from Beth Anne Sutherlin Coakley
Just in case anyone is interested, I just had the 25th reunion vhs tape transferred to DVD.  As I was watching, I noticed
was some good footage of Arthur Gracia (Sadly...rip)
For those that their memory cells are failing, ( not mine!..ha!), that is the reunion where Joe Singleton and
Gilsey Viator
sang at the dance!
If anyone is interested.....I might even figure out how to copy to another dvd!

CAJUN TWELVE THANK-YOU NOTES OF CHRISTMAS

Day 1
Dear Emile,
Thanks for da bird in the Pear tree. I fixed it las night with dirty rice an' it was delicious. I doan tink the Pear tree would
grow in de swamp, so I swapped it for a Satsuma.

Day 2
Dear Emile,
Your letter said you sent 2 turtle dove, but all I got was 2 scrawny pigeon. Anyway, I mixed them with andouille and made
some gumbo out of dem.

Day 3
Dear Emile,
Why doan you sen me some crawfish? I'm tired of eating dem darned bird. I gave two of those prissy French chicken to
Mrs. Fontenot over at Grand Chenier, and fed the tird one to my dog, Phideaux. Mrs. Fontenot needed some sparring partners for her fighting rooster.

Day 4
Dear Emile,
Mon Dieux! I tole you no more of dem bird. Deez four, what you call "calling bird" wuz so noisy you could hear dem all
da' way to Lafayette. I used they necks for my crab traps, and fed the rest of dem to the gators.

Day 5
Dear Emile,
You finally sent something useful. I liked dem golden rings, me. I hocked dem at da' pawn shop in Sulphur and got enough money to fix the shaft on my shrimp boat, and to buy a round for da boys at the Raisin' Cane Lounge. Merci Beaucoup!

Day 6
Dear Emile,
Couchon! Back to da birds, you big dumb turkey! Poor egg sucking Phideaux is scared to death ah dem six goose. He try
to eat they eggs and they pecked the heck out ah his snout. Dem goose are dang good at eating cockroach
around da' house, though. I may stuff one ah dem goose with erster dressing to serve him on Christmas Day.

Day 7
Dear Emile,
I'm gonna wring your fool neck next time I see you. Ole Boudreaux, da mailman, is ready to kill you, too. The poop
from all dem bird is stinkin up his mailboat. He afraid someone will slip on dat stuff and gonna sue him. I let dem
seven swan loose to swim on da bayou and some stupid duck hunter from Mississippi done blasted dem out da water. Talk to you tomorrow.

Day 8
Dear Emile,
Poor ole Boudreaux had to make 3 trips on his mailboat to deliver dem 8 maids-a-milking & der cows. One of dem
cows got spooked by da alligators and almost tipped over da boat. I doan like dem shiftless maids, me. I told
dem to get to work gutting fish and sweeping my shack--but dey say it wasn't in their contract. They probably tink
they too good to skin all dem nutria I caught las night.

Day 9
Dear Emile,
What you trying to do? Boudreaux had to borrow da Cameron Ferry to carry these jumping twits you call lords-a-leaping
across da bayou. As soon as dey got here dey wanted a tea break and crumpets. I doan know what dat means but
I says, "Well la di da. You get Chicory coffee or nuthin." Mon Dieux, Emile, hat I'm gonna feed all these bozos? They
too snooty for fried nutria, and da cow ate up all my turnip green.

Day 10
Dear Emile,
You got to be out of you mind. If da mailman don't kill you, I will. Today he deliver 10 half nekkid floozies from
Bourbon Street
. Dey said they be "ladies dancing" but they doan act like ladies in front of dem Limey sailing boys. Dey
almost left after one of them got bit by a water moccasin over by my out- house. I had to butcher 2 cows to feed toute
le monde (everybody) and get toilet paper rolls. The Sears catalog wasn't good enough for dem hoity toity lords. Talk at
you tomorrow.

Day 11
Dear Emile,
Where Y'at? Cherio and pip pip. You 11 Pipers Piping arrived today from the House of Blues, second lining as dey got
off da boat. We fixed stuffed goose and beef jumbalaya, finished da whiskey, and we're having a fais-do-do. Da' new
mailman drank a bottle of Jack Daniel, and he's having a good old time dancing with the floozies. Da' old mailman
done jump off the Moss Bluff Bridge yesterday, screaming you name. If you happen to get a mysterious-looking,
ticking package in da mail, don't open it.

Day 12
Dear Emile,
Me I'm sorry to tell you--but I am not your true love anymore. After the fais-do-do, I talked all  da night with Jacque,
the head piper. We decide to open a restaurant and gentlemen's club on the bayou. The floozies--pardon me--ladies
dancing can make $20 un hour for dancin', and the lords can be the waiters and valet park da boats. Since da' maids have
no more cows to milk, I trained dem to set my crab traps, watch my trotlines, and run my shrimping business. We'll
probably gross a million dollars next year.

Brooke just got her report from the doctor and her heart is normal and the pumping is good.  She will just have to take
12mg of Toprol to help with the PVC.  She will continue to see him every 6 months to keep a check on her heart.   What
a Blessing from God to hear this news today.

from Debbie Borres Desmond
I had replacement knee surgery at 10:30  Monday morning.  Took about 2 hours.   Everything went well.  I had a
block in my leg until Wednesday morning.   I was able to walk by then. The doctor said he was impressed with me
and I was determined. I showed the therapists how well I could get around and they said I would do just fine at home.
I go back to the doctor on Wednesday.  I am not in too much pain.  I can bend it fairly well.  I hope all had a blessed
holiday and will have a blessed new year.

Well, I have finished up this first edition of 2010!  It hasn't been easy.  I am on a new MAC computer.  Beautiful and sleek, new keyboard to learn to type on, different icons (oops, I mean WIDGETS), and my e-mail is sending correctly.  I hope this gets to you since I have been at it for hours!  Pleeeaaassee send us news, photos, bucket lists, military news, etc.  Help us out. Don't forget to contact the classmates mentioned in the SUPPORT list, etc.   Gotta go.  Need to soak in my tub. My neck and shoulders are tired from trying to do this properly.  I hope it is successful.  Now, I'll pass it on the Mike to do the rest of the update.  Hope you enjoy it.  We do.   Oh yeah, don't make me look on FACEBOOK to find news.  You can do it.

Stay in touch and contact a classmate,
