TJ Class of '68     NEWSLETTER                                                           02/13/10

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY a bit early.  Pretty chilly over here in Lumberton but no snow like so many other areas.  It was amazing to read that 49 states had snow on Friday!  Wow.  Global warming?

MAIL CALL
from Charles Cramer in Downingtown, PA to Gail Wilson Felker in response to her message in our last NEWSLETTER
I just wanted to drop you a note and say, "Thank you" for reminding everyone to get their colonoscopy done.  My dad died of colon cancer at age 71 so I was knocking on the doctor's door when I turned 50 to get it done.  Because of the history,  I am on the every five year plan.  Neither the age 50 or age 55 procedure had any adverse findings and I am happy to report that the 60 year procedure I had today was fine, also.

Thanks again for reminding everyone of this important test.  If anyone hasn't had one yet, the procedure is painless and the prep is no worse than the effects of the Volcano Tacos from Taco Bell!  May God bless you with good health in the future.

NEWS ON THE HOMEFRONT
It has been a long two weeks since the last NEWSLETTER. I mentioned in my last edition about Mom's health.  Well, it got worse and we ended up a week in the hospital and a lot of time spent at their apartment since she returned.  Her anxiety attacks are fewer but she is on breathing treatments for her lung problems, home-health is coming in daily to help out with therapy, bathing, and overall checking on her.  She is very weak and her mental status, even though not called depression, is unstable in the sense that she is worried about her final months or years.  She is Dad's "caregiver" and she worries what will happen with him.  She is also in that "poor me" state because of her health condition.  It is taking a toll on my sister and I.  We are torn between our own houses and family responsibilities.  Maybe I will have a better message here next edition in two weeks.  I hope so.

Okay, now you see what a NEWSLETTER looks like that has barely any response from classmates.  Like it?  Didn't think so.
