I'm back! Boston was awesome.
Now, I need to

We
went to a
dinner/play at
the Beau Reve
(that is the big
white house on
Sara Jane Rd).
As usual, it was
a very good meal
and the play
that was put on
by the PA Little
Theatre was very
good. The
food is
excellent.

Well, yesterday
we began
readying for TS
Matthew.
So far, just a
little rain.
We are keeping
our fingers
crossed that
this will just
be a little wind
and rain and not
anything
horrible.
I made a
Southwest Soup
with cornbread,
the flashlights
have fresh
batteries,
lantern is full
of oil,
everything is
put
away.....Keep

Well, we only
got a little
rain and a
little wind from
TS Matthew.
We prepared for
a hurricane and
thankfully it
was nothing to
worry about.
We did need the
rain and were
glad to get it.
Cleaning the
porches, putting
things back in
place and
enjoying the
sunshine today.
Thanks for all
of the prayers
and well
wishes.

Wow, what a week
we had in the
Carribbean.
Our chartered
flight (180
travel agents)
left Houston at
7 AM on
Thursday, Oct. 7
and flew first
to an island in
the Bahamas
called Great
Exuma; toured
the Sandals
property and had
lunch there;
then boarded the
plane again and
flew to the
Beaches resort
on Turks and
Caicos, where we
spent two
nights. We
left there
Saturday morning
and flew to the
Sandals property
on
Nassau.
The water and
beach at all
three places are
breathtaking, as
many of you
surely already
know. I
got back home to
the news that my
brother's wife,
Joyce, had died
of complications
from diabetes.
She was only one
month older than
me and would
have 61 in
November.
She was cremated
and we will
spread the ashes
in
Louisiana.
I went ahead
with my plans to
go to Dallas to go the State Fair, which I haven't
been to in
probably 30
years. It
was a blast.
I ate fried
this, fried
that. My
favorite was the
fried Snickers.

other days and I
ride the

at home.
I've been losing
weight...40
pounds so far
and still
losing. We
are enjoying
Flint,
Texas. We are taking vacations along
with the trips
to the
triathlons.
We've been to
Branson twice
and have a third
trip planned
along with two
vacations coming
up before this
year is out.
I'm busy doing
the geneology of

My great, great
grandmother was
a half breed NA
and her father
was
full-blooded. She
claimed Cherokee
but I am
thinking she was
wrong.
there was
another tribe in
that area of
Louisiana during the centry her family had to
take on an
European name.
It's been a real
history lesson
for both of us.

Well, off the
top of my head,
I'd make two.
A travel list:
Australia/New
Zealand,
Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium.
An action list: Snorkeling,
swimming with
dolphins, and
ziplining.
(I probably
should include
something of a
more noble
nature like
curing cancer or
bringing peace
to the
Middle East,
but just keeping
it real.)

The 5 day trip
to
Boston was
really too
short. We
lucked out and
got to tour Fenway Park (the home of the Boston Red Sox).
Murphy and I
have really been
following the
Sox this year
because of a
local 26 year
old from Lumberton that is one of the ace pitchers.
His name is
Clay Buchholz
and he had a
superb year!
I went on a fall
folliage bus
tour, seacoast
tour which
included the
states of New Hampshire and Maine. I saw lots of historical places
but still need
to go back to
see Harvard
campus, JFK
Presidential
Library, do the
freedom trail,
and also I want
to do Martha's
Vineyard and
Cape Cod.
On a bad note, I
did "something"
to my GOOD knee
while trying to
get out of those
stupid seats on
the plane to get
into the aisle.
I'll just wait
until it is
unbearable to
check it out.
Don't have time
for nonsence at
this point!
My youngest
granddaughter,
Drew, is turning
6 this week.
Yikes. I
only have two
grandchildren.
Not fair.
Where does the
time go?
My mom passed
away 5 months
ago this week.
Dad doesn't say
much about her
when I mention
anything.
Don't know if it
is the dementia
that keeps him
from talking
about her much
or if it is just
easier on his
heart.

My cousin,
Johnny Russell
(TJ '69),
was killed in an
automobile
accident on
Sept. 22.
It happened near
Beaumont.
He was coming
home from work,
and his car
crashed into a
tree.
Witnesses said
the car had been
weaving from
lane to lane.
We think he may
have fallen
asleep at the
wheel. He
was not married
and did not have
any children.
He is survived
by his father,
(my uncle),
Louis Terrell

Please keep the

hit it. He
was living with
