January 2011 almost over
ALREADY? Woo hoo!
Only 11 more months
until Christmas!

Well, I'm off on another
cruise in a week
(sailing January 23).
This is out of
Galveston, so it's such an easy drive down from
Houston.
This time, I'm bringing
our classmate
Linda
Smith
and her
husband,
Wayne Webber
along for the ride.
I know we'll have a lot
of fun.

We are planning a trip
to the Golden Triangle
area for the Mardi Gras
this year. I hope
to see a bunch of
classmates there.

I was in
Branson,
MO right before Christmas and saw some great
shows, including Bill
Medley of the Righteous
Brothers.
Listening to him brought
memories of our senior
year at TJ flooding
back. Thank you
Dennis O'Quinn,
Tinker Brown
and Jody
Juneau,
and
Dale
and
Marilyn Guidry
for the good times.
My son is a junior at
Auburn
University, the 14-0
national champs! I
still love my Texas teams, but what a wild ride with Cam
Newton here this
season! WAR EAGLE!!!

I am sending
pictures of our oldest
granddaughter with her
new baby! It's really
unique thinking our
daughter is a
GRANDMOTHER! We're so
blessed by all of our
gifts. We're
getting quite a bit of
grief over being
"great-grandparents.
We've been great
grandparents for quite
awhile, I don't
know what the big deal
is. "-)

I
want to thank you for
sending me the friend
requests on FaceBook to
reconnect with our
school mates. It
has been fun talking to
them and seeing their
pictures.

Had a great birthday.
I went out to eat with
friends. Not
riding motorcycles
anymore. For some
strange reason, my
husband decided one day
he wanted to sell it.
Although I miss it, I do
realize it was dangerous
and we had a couple of
close calls. Stop
by my Sewing Machine
Repair Shop sometime
when you are out and
about in
Groves.

CAFE del RIO will never be the
same!!!
A semi-impromptu
gathering of female
classmates from our
class happened on
Wednesday, January 19 at
a restaurant in
Beaumont. What started as a foursome for
Debbie Borres'
belated birthday
luncheon grew in size as
word got out on FB and
by e-mail to get gals
retired, unemployed,
running away, not
babysitting grandbabies
or elderly, etc to
gather and laugh the
afternoon away.
Oh, the stories of
hysterectomies, memory
loss, doctor
appointments, etc. was
the talk that led to
laughter and fun for
all. Those
attending were
Debbie Borres,
Janette Light,
Cherlyn Hebert,
JaneLippincott,
Paula Daigle,
Janis Hamilton,
Kay Campbell,
Jeanette Constantine,
Charlotte Pace,
Georgette Licatino,
and me. Many
carpools were formed,
appointments cancelled
or changed, substitute
teaching withdrawn for
the day, and a
well-planned trip all
the way from Cypress and
Houston was involved
just to spend a couple
of well-spent hours
reminiscing and
chit-chatting.
Below is some of the
response AFTER the
happening that
was posted on FaceBook:
from
Janette Light:
Today I got to have
lunch with a bunch of my
classmates from the
class of '68---some I've
known since elementary
and some I picked up in
jr. high and high
school. Some I've
just gotten to know
since we graduated--more
than a lifetime (40+
years) for some of you
sweet young things.
Ladies, never forget the
value of girlfriends.
Men, encourage your
wives to get with "the
girls" regularly.
You'll be glad you did!
from
Jonnye Williamson:
Glad everyone had a good
time. I hope to
join ya'll next time.
from
Pat Trahan:
Gosh, I wish I was
retired!!!! What a
fun time you must have
had. Maybe one of
these days....
from
Hal Ross:
What if I don't have a
wife? Can I get
with the girls
regularly?
from
Janette Light:
I'm not so sure you
would appreciate the
table talk, .....
from
Michael Harmon:
Hal, maybe we could go
to the same
restaurant....but get
another table....in an
estrogen safe zone????
from
Rebecca Carr:
I'll go next time.
from
Jeanette Constantine:
I enjoyed getting
together. We
should do it again soon
and see how many more
classmates we could get
to come. It was
great!
from
Debbie Borres:
Just had the most
wonderful lunch with
some classmates.
from
Gloria Phillips:
Sounds like you guys had
a great luncheon date.
That's great you live
close enough to do that.
from
Beth Anne Sutherlin:
I'm jealous!
from
Debbie Felder:
I wish I would have
known. I would
have come, too. It
sounds like fun.
from
Jane Lippincott:
Thanks to all of the '68
girls that I had a
chance to visit and have
lunch with today.
The food was great but
the company was the
best. Thanks for
those who came from
Houston,
that was a long drive
but we appreciated it.
from
Becky LeBlanc:
Please let me know when
the next one is. I'll
take off of work
if possible to attend.
I have only made the
first reunion, but am
planning to attend the
next one. I would
love to get together
with the gals at a
luncheon and see
everyone and catch up.
from
Peggy Fontenot:
That get-together must
have been a lot of fun
for all of you.
from
Darlene Turner:
Let me know when the
next soiree is,
hopefully I can attend.
OKAY! Sounds like
this second gathering of
gals is a MUST! All
this chattering is
making my head spin!!

Our dog, Princess, had a
severe reaction to a
glucosamine product.
She almost died.
The vet gave her anti-inflamatory
medicine and
antibiotics. She
has a profile on my
Facebook page.
It's title is simply
Princess. Please
keep her in your
prayers. You can

Thanks for the many
inquiries I have
received asking about my
sister's health.
The medication change
has been a daily
challenge. Since
she is bi-polar, we
can't always tell if it
is the condition or the
med change. She
has been pretty nervous
since adding ADDERAL
(ADD medicine) and has
become very quite.
I will keep you posted.
Dad is doing well.
Thanks to all of you for
your prayers and
support.
