MAIL CALL
From Charlie Fontenot’s daughter:
I am late posting a Happy 75th Birthday and Father's day wishes to my Daddy-o! and a belated birthday to my Mom also! We were all together in Chicago
making awesome memories. We got to surprise my dad with a trip to see Wrigley Field and watch the Cubs play. We also got to visit Rate Field for the
celebration for Pope Leo XIV for my Mom, among many other fun things we did together.

July 4th TEXAS FLOODING
This catastrophic event is still ongoing. Camille Messina’s granddaughter was rescued. Murphy’s sister and extended family had to evacuate from River Road
RV park on the 5th. They were camping with the owners of Tequila’s Restaurant on Gulfway Drive. My daughter and family had been to that same park in 2010 and
had to leave immediately due to a flash flood. They were safe but lost everything when their RV was washed down river. Rhonda and Bill Richey with their
boys’ families, were also camping higher up and are now safe. Lyn Frasier and
Perry Lee were marked safe in Georgetown. I was under the weather and I
wasn’t able to follow Face Book more closely to get any more classmates posts about the flooding. Continued prayers. This is so very sad.
NEWS FROM THE HOMEFRONT
We went to the Astros game on May 28 with a senior tour group. What a great way to attend a game. We met the bus in Silsbee and traveled to Golden Corral
in Houston and then were dropped off at the left field gate. We didn’t even have to go through security. Our seats were on street level about 75 yards
from the drop off.
Go ASTROS! We will be headed to College Station for our first granddaughter’s graduation in August. She will get her BS degree in nursing. She has a job
starting in the fall at Medical City Children’s Hospital in Dallas in the Pediatric Cardiac ICU. While we are in College Station, we will also attend a
theatre production of “17 AGAIN” that my second and last granddaughter has several parts in. Busy weekend. Recently we stopped at a restaurant in Orange
after attending mass and who do we see? Our old pals, Johnny “Pookie” Montagne and his wife, Darlene. They had just celebrated their 50th anniversary the
day before. Johnny grew up in Pear Ridge and later moved to Surfside near the coast. They moved back to Bridge City and we reconnected there and raised
our families together. It was good seeing them again. We left in 2008 after Hurricane Ike and don’t get to see them near as often as we would like to.
MINI REUNION LUNCHEON
Hopefully we can get one going in early fall.
CLASSMATE INFO CHANGES NEEDED
I continue to change information on the master spreadsheet of all the classmates. But, I need your help in keeping it updated. Recently,
Janice Nunez contacted me to change her e-mail. Then,
Randy Landry has moved from Crystal Beach to Nederland.
Cynthia Marshall contacted me to delete her landline and
change her cell # and delete a work #. These are very important because it is how Mike and I can continue to send information, news, death notices, etc to
you. Please keep me informed. You can check your city and e-mail address information on the front page of our website under the link CLASSMATE LISTING

for a new path. Our mom begins treatment on Tuesday at Envita Medical Center in Scottsdale, AZ.
Update:

Ronnie Abate (husband of Joyce Marceaux)
June 4
I wanted to thank everyone for all the prayers and well wishes for Ronnie. He has been home since Sunday, and what a busy week! Home Health, Social Services,
Physical Therapist and making calls to doctors for follow up appointments! Ronnie is doing pretty good. He is getting better with his walker and his right knee
doesn't give out as much either. His right leg from the knee up to the hip is still pretty numb, but those nerves are sure waking up! His is still in some
pain, but that will get better too. Again, thank you all for your love and support

My heart is troubled thinking of the flooding and all the sadness writing about classmate’s health woes and then also the deaths. It is not easy putting all the information down, but I do thank all of you who contribute to my “news” for this letter and also for the classmates who read them and follow us. It just makes us a unique class….a bunch of lifetime friends….TJ, class of ’68. Now, I send this to
Mike Lawson and he has hours and hours of work, also to get it to you after changing things on the website.
Stay in touch and contact a classmate,
