I wanted to let you all know I am getting closer to home.
Unfortunately, I am working so much I can't even get there
for a visit. I am working for the same company.
I am a Community Director and Start Up Director for new
properties being developed for Woodmark Management out of
Dallas. We are currently constructing a
multi-family apartment complex in Humble. It is a 318
unit apartment complex and will be our 6th property in the
Houston area. It is located just off 1960
near
Bush
Airport. The
management company I work for is going to be developing a
property in
Beaumont in the
very near future. No, I'm not going to manage that
one. I may start it up, but I won't be moving any
farther south. I have been residing in
Harlingen,
TX since 1983 and "believe me" this is just
like leaving home again.
I am single and
plan to stay that way! You all know what kind of
student I was! I need a course in MARRIAGE 101!
Anyway, I have two boys, age 37 & 33. Gee, I can't
believe their ages, but the good thing is I have 3
grandbabies.
Chad, my oldest son, lives in
San Antonio and
he has twins, a boy and a girl. They are 16 months and
precious. Nathan, my youngest son, is living in
Kingwood (just 9 miles from where I will be.) He has a
10 month old son.
Thanks to you and
Mike for the work on the website. I do read all the
updates and remember everyone in my prayers. I would
love to get together and get reaquainted with anyone who is
Houston. I would love to see all of you
again.

I live 20 miles SE of Fort Worth. I
hve been here
since 2006. I am single but living with my ex-husband.
I have no children. I am not working-looking though,
but so for no luck. My cousin,
Linda
Arriola
Barrera (TJ '66) told me about the website when she was up
here visiting. It was very exciting seeing all the
classmates but very distressing on the obituaries,
especially
Linda K.
Broussardi.
I was shocked to read that she had died! I have heard
from a couple of classmates that have e-mailed me and was
excited to hear from them.
Sorry I didn't
make the class reunion last August. My sister told me
that
Cecilia Trevino
asked about me at church and told her to tell me about the
reunion. I didn't want to go, (I hadn't been to any of
them), because I thought that I would not see the people I
used to hang around with. Lo and behold, I was wrong!
They e-mailed me once they found out where I was. Now,
I am sorry I missed seeing everyone. Please add me to
the mailing list. Thanks. I hope to hear from my
friends.

MOTHER'S DAY BBQ
1. The woman buys the food.
2. The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and
makes dessert.
3. The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a
tray along with the utensils and sauces, and takes it to the
man who is lounging beside the grill with his favorite
beverage.
4. The woman remains outside the compulsory 3 meter
exclusion zone.
HERE COMES THE IMPORTANT PART:
5. THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.
more routine...
6. The woman goes inside to organize the plates and
cutlery.
7. The woman comes out to tell the man it is looking great
and brings him more beverage.
IMPORTANT AGAIN:
8. THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE
WOMAN.
9. The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread utensils,
napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table.
10. After eating, the woman clears the table and does the
dishes.
AND MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL:
11. Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking
efforts.
12. The man asks the woman how she enjoyed her "day off",
AND, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that
there's just
NO PLEASING SOME WOMEN!

We seem to be
getting more familiar with the Lumberton, Kountze, Silsbee
area. We are also about 8 minutes away from
Parkdale
Mall. We don't do malls but there are many kinds of
stores in the same area!
I have had a few
classmates that have shown up to visit and check out our
"new" home. Some of those were
Ernie
Castaneda, Debbie Borres, Diane Richmond, Beverly Copeland,
and Joanna Simmons ('69).
I am expecting to see
Jane Lippincott
and husband
Kent
Koerth ('66),
Martha
Lipe ('69)
and classmate husband
Carl
Bodin,
Bill
Richey
and wife,
Rhonda Carleton ('70),
(their son, Chris, lives on the outskirts of Lumberton), and
a few others that have said they would drop in.
Allen
Baldridge
and wife Wanda showed up while in the area visiting his mom
in Vidor. Allen lives in Hideaway, TX near Tyler.
Please feel free to come by. A "little" notice would
be nice, though. I might have to close some closet
doors!!! Don't laugh....You all know what I'm talking
about!!!

My parents are
spending three days in Friendswood with my older brother and
his family for Mother's Day weekend. They are still
planning to move from the Assisted Living Rose House into an
apartment in Groves. Please pray that they are making
the right decision. My dad just turned 93 and Mom will
be 87 in June.

4 YEARS OF
AGE-My mommy can do anything!
8 YEARS OF AGE-My mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE-My mother doesn't really know quite
everything
14 YEARS OF AGE-Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either.
16 YEARS OF AGE-Mother? She's hopelessly
old-fashioned.
18 YEARS OF AGE-That old woman? She's way out of it!
25 YEARS OF AGE-Well, she might know a little bit about it.
35 YEARS OF AGE-Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.
45 YEARS OF AGE-Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE-Wish I could talk it over with Mom.

It has been 6 months since my brain surgery. The tumor
was located in the brain stem on the cranial nerves.
Praise GOD it was not cancer. The surgery caused
facial paralysis. After three monts, I went back to
work, working in a hospital pushing a 500 lb ultrasound
machine. I was told in rehab that I would never be
able to push the heavy machine again. I kept saying,
"Oh yes I will!" There is a surgery that will
transplant a nerve to my face. I see a plastic surgeon
at UT Medical school in Dallas. The surgery is planned
for Sept. or Oct. just think my face might look
like I'm 20 with a 60 year old body!! Scarey thought!
I'm really
blessed and thank GOD everyday. A major crisis in
one's life reallymakes you stop and realize what is really
important....family and friends. I really enjoy
reading the website and the updates. Thanks for
keeping me in your prayers and please continue to do so.
I would love to hear for all of you.

Mike and I were
very pleased when
Gail Wilson
sent in some photos to add to the website. Take time
to do the same when you run across any. Also, send me
news, messages, health issues, rememberances, etc.
That is what makes our website so special. Don't
forget to contact classmates that are mentioned that need
support. You can find their e-mail address under the
heading CLASSMATE LISTING. Also, you may contact me
for their home address and phone #.
